The Mann in Charge

While Peyton Manning's release from the Colts was expected, it still came with controversy. However, the future Hall of Fame QB is not the only big name that will be available at 4'o clock on Tuesday. Former  teammates of Manning including TE Dallas Clark and WR Reggie Wayne are only a few of the numerous big name players that are available.

It is possible that Manning could already have a new home by the time all of the other players reach the open market, as Peyton is already an unrestricted free agent. Manning has spent the last few days touring team facilities including Denver and Arizona, and is scheduled to visit with Miami and Tennessee. But where will all of the other free agents land? Here is what I think will happen.

Peyton Manning - Arizona Cardinals
The opinions on where Manning will play have changed numerously over the last few days, so of course this is subject to change. First it was Miami, then Denver, and now Arizona. The Cardinals do however present a very good case. Pairing Manning with Larry Fitzgerald and possibly Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark would immediately make the Cards the favorite in the NFC West. Miami is still a possibility, but Arizona seems to have the edge at the moment.

Mario Williams - New York Jets
You know the Jets aren't afraid to spend the money, so this could very well happen. Williams is exactly the kind of pass rusher that Rex Ryan has been searching for since he arrived in the Big Apple. Williams would bring an explosive rusher off the edge that has been lacking in an otherwise stout Jets defense. The only risk with Williams is injuries. Mario Williams has struggled staying on the field throughout his career, but a healthy Williams is a scary player.

Vincent Jackson - Chicago Bears
San Diego obviously got tired of Jackson's attitude and decided to let him go this off season. The Bears are in desperate need of a play maker on offense to compliment Matt Forte. Jackson adds another dimension to Chicago, which will allow Jay Cutler to use his big arm and stretch the field. Johnny Knox's status is uncertain for next season after a horrific injury last season, and Devin Hester failed to improve as a WR. The need for Jackson is glaring, and should be a perfect fit.

Matt Flynn - Miami Dolphins
It seems that America's favorite backup QB is Matt Flynn, and two career starts have brought him to elite status in the minds of many. Personally I don't believe Matt Flynn is the next big thing at QB, contrary to many expert opinions. However for the purpose of this article, I will give Matt Flynn a team. Miami makes almost too much sense for Flynn. Flynn knows the offense, as former Packers OC Joe Philbin is the new Head Coach. Also Miami is in dire need of a QB. If Manning does not come to South Beach, Matt Flynn will be at the top of their list.

Other notable Free Agent predictions:
Alex Smith - San Francisco 49ers
Peyton Hillis - San Diego Chargers
Reggie Wayne - Miami Dolphins
Marques Colston - Washington Redskins
Dallas Clark - Denver Broncos
London Fletcher - Detroit Lions
Carlos Rodgers - San Francisco 49ers
Cortland Finnegan - Dallas Cowboys
