Tis' the Season for Bowl Mania

As the College Football season is beginning to reach its conclusion, any teams will have their seasons defined by how they perform in their respective bowl games. Everyone will focus on the BCS Bowls to see (1)LSU and (2)Alabama, but keep watch for these games, something special might happen.

Outback Bowl: (17)Michigan State VS (16)Georgia
Both of these teams are coming off championship game losses, looking to bounce back and end the season with a win. After starting the season with two consecutive losses, the Bulldogs rode a ten game win streak all the way to the SEC Championship Game. Michigan State’s ride to the title game was a little more interesting including a last second Hail Mary victory against Wisconsin. Both teams appear to be evenly matched. However the key will be Georgia Freshman RB Isaiah Crowell, who is beginning to come of age and become a force in Georgia’s offense.
Capital One Bowl: (20)Nebraska VS (9)South Carolina
South Carolina has had an interesting season in which despite finishing 10-2 and defeating Georgia, did not make the trip to the SEC Championship. The Gamecocks have also endured a good deal of controversy, including the dismissal of Senior QB Stephen Garcia, but have somehow fought through to have a successful season. On the other side, Nebraska has had a difficult time adjusting to the Big 10, after going to the Big 12 Championship Game last season. The Cornhuskers struggled against Big 10 opponents including a near loss to unranked Ohio State. South Carolina will win the game as long as Connor Shaw can make enough plays against the sturdy Nebraska D.
AT&T Cotton Bowl: (6)Arkansas VS (8)Kansas State
Kansas State has enjoyed a bounce back season after finishing unranked a year ago. The reason has been the incredible play of QB Collin Klein who led the team in rushing and produced 26 TDs on the ground. However the season will end with an incredible challenge against Arkansas and Tyler Wilson. Arkansas, who’s only two losses were to LSU and Alabama, the national championship contenders, was in the national championship conversation until the loss to LSU. After a 7-0 start K-State faltered down the stretch with consecutive losses to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, but rebounded with three straight wins to end the season with a 2nd Place finish in the Big 12. However, Arkansas should have the upper hand in this contest as the passing game will be too much for K-State to handle.
