Brady V.S. Manning: No, Not That Manning

Giants QB Eli Manning recently said that he believes that he is in the same class as Tom Brady. Brady is considered by most to be the best QB in the NFL, and the best player in the league. For Eli to make such a statement is outrageous. Even though Manning was able to defeat Brady in Super Bowl XLII, nothing else in Manning's career suggests that he is close to being as good as Brady. Brady has won two MVP awards, while Eli has won none. Score, Brady: 1, Eli: 0. Tom Brady is a 3-time Super Bowl Champion, Manning has only won 1 Super Bowl. Score, Brady: 2, Eli: 0. Brady also has 6 Pro Bowl Selections, compared to Eli's one. Score, Brady: 3, Eli: 0. Alright, I'm done torturing Eli Manning, now I will rank the Top 5 QBs in the NFL. See if Eli made the cut.

1. Tom Brady NE: Well, I pretty much already summed up why Brady is the best, but I'll give some more reasons why no one else is better. Tom Brady won last year's MVP award in incredible fashion, becoming the first player ever to win the award by a unanimous vote. Last season, Brady also set the NFL record for most consecutive passes thrown without an interception, throwing only 4 picks in the entire regular season. Unlike Eli Manning, who threw 25 interceptions last season.

2. Peyton Manning IND: Eli is also not in the same class as his older brother. Peyton Manning is usually ranked among the best QBs in the NFL statistically. Last year was no exception, as he threw for 4,700 yards and 33 TDs. However, for the 2nd straight year, Manning has thrown over 15 interceptions, throwing 17 last season. Peyton is a 4-time MVP, and an 11-time Pro Bowl Selection. If Peyton does not want to fall down the QB rankings, he has to cut down on turnovers. Lucky for Eli, he isn't the only guy in his family throwing footballs to the other team.

3. Aaron Rodgers GB: I do think that it is a little ridiculous that people are saying that Rodgers is the best QB in the league because, his career thus far does not come close to comparing to Brady and Peyton Manning. Aaron Rodgers has ascended up the board after a tremendous playoff run, leading to a Super Bowl Championship. Rodgers is also, statistically, the NFL's most efficient passer ever. Rodgers owns the career record for the highest QB rating in NFL History at 98.4. In the playoffs, Rogers completed 68% of his passes, while throwing 9 TDs in 4 games.

4. Drew Brees NO: Last year at this time, Brees was in the same place that Aaron Rodgers is in right now. Drew Brees was the MVP of Super Bowl XLIV. However, last year Brees had a Eli Manning like year. Brees threw 22 interceptions last year but also threw for 4,620 yards, the 2nd best single season total of his career. In order to win the NFC South, Brees must limit his turnovers because the Falcons and Buccaneers are also very talented.

5. Michael Vick PHI: Last season was Michael Vick's return to stardom. Vick had the best season of his career, even though he only started 12 games. Vick threw for 3,000 yards last season, the first time he had done so in his career. Michael Vick also showed flashes of the old Vick, rushing for 600 yards and 9 TDs. Vick accounted for 30 total TDs (running and passing). Vick also only threw 6 interceptions last season, the lowest single season total of his career (he threw 3 interceptions in 2001 and 2003 but only started 6 games in those two seasons combined). If Vick stays healthy for the entire season, the Eagles and Vick will be very dangerous for any team that comes in their way.
